To provide the candidate with sufficient knowledge to successfully complete the course and achieve their ADR Licence which in turn will allow them to transport hazardous or potentially hazardous goods within the EU whist operating in a safely and efficient manner. On successful completion candidates will receive their ADR Licence directly from the DVLA.

What is the ADR Qualification?
ADR stands for “Accord Dangereux Routier,” which translates to “European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road.” If you are driving a vehicle carrying dangerous goods then you must, by UK law, hold an ADR licence which is the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road.
ADR Training Courses vary in length depending upon the nature of goods to be transported. Most candidates opt for either a 3.5-day Core, Packages and 7 Classes or a 5-day course which includes the tanks module.
Classes include:
- Class 1 – Explosives (specialist class)
- Class 2 – Gases
- Class 3 – Flammable liquids
- Class 4 – Flammable solids
- Class 5 – Oxidising substances
- Class 6 – Toxic substances
- Class 7 – Radioactive substances (specialist class)
- Class 8 – Corrosive substances
- Class 9 – Miscellaneous substances
How long does it take for me to get my results?
Exams are conducted using tablets at our centres. Results are issued at the finish of the course.
Do I get any DCPC hours for sitting the course?
Yes, however this depends on the course and classes that you are completing. We can discuss this further with you at the point of booking. You can only claim periodic DCPC hours and not initial DCPC hours.
How long is an ADR Licence valid for?
All ADR licences are valid for 5 years. If you renew your ADR licence within the 12 months before expiry it will run for exactly 5 years from the expiry date on your current ADR licence.
Will I get a reminder to renew my ADR licence?
No, the responsibility totally sits with the driver. You will need to monitor this.
