Aims and Objectives
A tight-fitting face piece is only as good as the fit itself and any break in the seal can lead to potential exposure and a risk to an employee’s health. It is a mandatory requirement under Section 7 of the current COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) Regulations 2002 that as an employer you protect your workforce by ensuring that the correct RPE is tested, fitted and worn correctly to give maximum protection and to meet your legal obligations.
Content and Course Design including Testing Process
Fit Factor will be tested against the following exercises:
- Normal Breathing
- Deep Breathing
- Head side to side
- Head up and down
- Talk out loud
- Bending Over
- Normal Breathing
Giving an overall fit factor at the end of this process and a certificate of compliance.
